Things seem to be moving pretty fast as we count down the
last couple days until the start of the North American Junior Young Rider
Championships. We are officially all moved into the Kentucky Horse Park! With
final arrival of our coach and families the truth is starting to sink in. We
are here and ready to show the East Coast what California Eventers are made of.

And we look good too. With the arrival of long time Area VI
supporter and parent, Margie Molly, came our swag. Our riders will be dressed
to impress tomorrow with their Professional’s Choice brushing boots and saddle
pads. Riders will be rocking our fabulous Kerrits Equestrian Apparel jackets
and ice fill shirts. (Which we are extremely grateful for as temperatures seem
to continue to creep into the mid 90s).

As young athletes we realize that we need a lot of help.
Parents, organizers, trainers, and mentors are all extremely important in
helping us to learn and absorb all this new information. As we interact, meet,
and watch all of the other incredible young riders with their variety of
disciples it is inspiring see ourselves as one United States Equestrian
Community instead of just our small west coast eventing family.
