And so it begins! After days of packing and fighting cows from
our storage shed in the rolling hills of Gilroy, for the Area VI gear, the
horses have finally landed in Kentucky.

Early Friday evening Brynn Littlehale (one
star rider) and her parents loaded all of the gear and horses to start the
journey from Gilroy to Ontario International Airport in Southern California.
Apparently Michael (Brynn’s lovely horse) had heard the news and was little
reluctant to leave his stall. After a discussion with Michael about how lovely
the Kentucky bluegrass is and how he gets to eat lots of it (and how he will
love eating a lot of it) we safely loaded the ponies.

We arrived at Ontario International Airport at 3:00 A.M.
with two happy slightly confused ponies, two excited riders, and four extremely
sleepy parents. Tex Sutton, one of the best equine airline services, was amazing working with the horses, Casey (Natalie Kuhny’s horse) and Michael both walked right on up the ramp like nothing. pretty incredible watching them build the stalls around the horses. Even more amazing was their ability to find room for all our gear!

After a shockingly uneventful flight, Natalie and Brynn then
hopped onto the hauling van with the horses for a quick 30-minute ride over to
the… drum roll please Kentucky Horse Park!!!! Laura Powell and her brother met
them there and were extremely helpful in the unloading aka the heavy lifting
process. Michael and Casey went straight to rolling and rolling some more.
Brynn and Natalie took the golf cart out for some exploring of the horse park.
The golf cart, Bob, is possibly one of the most valuable additions to the Area
VI team.
unfortunately Bob is a bit slow…but we love
him anyways. Golf cart decorating will commence tomorrow so stay posted for
Bob’s makeover. Already it has been such an amazing experience and we are so
grateful for this opportunity.
And ALWAYS Thank you to our sponsors Western Saddlery, Professional's Choice, Grand Meadows, Kerrits, Dover Saddlery, Ariat!!
