Ready Set Go!

After relaxing for a bit at the parent house, team vet Laura arranged for us to take a tour at the Hagyard Equine Medical Institute, where she is one of the surgeons for the sport horse division. Just across from the horse park, Hagyard is an incredible facility one of the largest in the world, with state of the art equine equipment. It was really comforting to learn about the benefits of certain new technologies such as the increasing use of MRI machines in lameness diagnostics. Big thanks to Laura for arranging this tour for all of us!

We proceeded to do a little tack store for some retail therapy where we all spent more than we should have. Now properly outfitted, Brynn and Natalie rode their horses once more, while Kelly, Ainsleigh, and our crew of amazing parents began decorating Bob the golf cart. Our original "California Beach Party" theme didn't exactly go according to plan, so Bob is looking more like a bath tub, spooking a few horses in his path (including Casey).

The horses got to enjoy some more Kentucky bluegrass this evening while sporting their Area VI scrim sheets and Smartpak Sport Boots before being tucked back into their stalls while we headed back to the house to eat. The rest of the young rider horses arrived today, and the barns are getting pretty exciting! We can't wait for opening ceremonies tomorrow evening, and of course to show Bob off in the famous golf cart parade! Wish us luck!
